Jim is a healthcare industry professional who is highly experienced in product launches, operations & operation research, clinical trials, marketing, data warehouse modeling, and master database management (MDM) solutions. Jim is also the co-founder of DarkMatter2bd and founder of several previous companies, one that was sold to Quintiles Transnational, another which was sold to Veeva. His accomplishments include building first 64-bit data warehouse in healthcare as well as the redesign and construction of the largest medical claims repository still available, including the initial projection methodology and matching algorithms for tracking over 100 million blinded patient lives on a daily basis. This database later became part of Verispan, later SDI, and now resides at IMS America. Jim’s skills include the integration of complex disparate data with advanced computing technologies and information delivery systems that are used to solve complex client business needs. Jim has presented at many conferences including both medical and technology meetings including SMP/MPP Conferences. Jim has also received research grants from the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy as well as several foundations. Most recently, Jim led one of the four winning teams to win the Institute of Medicine’s global competition on Ending Domestic Violence @Home. Jim sits on several corporate and non-profit boards and is an active member of the Academy on Violence and Abuse (AVA).
